To Celebrate A Year of Bloggin!

In a couple of weeks, it will have been a year since I first sent Sherri something to publish on Parkinson’s Journey (on 3/7/08) and it doesn’t seem like it can have already have been a year since I sent that note to her. She has been kind and gracious (and probably temporarily insane at the time) to have asked me around early May of last year to join her in blogging on Parkinson’s Journey. I must say it has been a wild and wonderful ride–something I never thought I do, but am so glad I did!

In that time, we have learned alot about our friends here and about each other. It brings great joy to share in our friends daily victories through responses to our blogs or from reading others, or following them on facebook! But I must say it has been a true joy to get to know and share ideas with Sherri. She is truely an inspiring writer with a compassionate soul; she can do a poem with ease (something I’m jealous of) and can throw in a zinger ever now and then to make me LOL so hard at times it hurts but in a good way; and she just has this amazing way of looking at life and sharing her heart and soul so openly and honestly and so humbly. Ok, so I really admire her and can’t thank her enough for putting up with me and some of my wild and wacky submissions here (and she loves ‘da coat!).

I don’t know if in the scheme of things my attempts at sharing on PJ blog site have made anyone else feel like Parkinson’s is not a road we need to walk alone (around 42+ blog entries — if I counted right), but it has been a new coping tool I have come to use in my life and I thank Sherri for offering this opportunity to me.

So in light of this auspiscious occassion, I came up with this little poem about Parkinson’s Journey…I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Parkinson’s Journey is ‘da blog

written by two who think it is their job

to share thoughts that will set the tone

so others will know they are not alone

Livin, fightin’ and surviving

with support and all our being

we face this challenge called P.D.

count us in as your friends, indeed!

You’re invited to take a part

and share a snipit of your heart

or just read and think before you go

how trouble shared ….softens our sorrow!

So we’re glad you stopped to read

of our journey and of the need

to find courage and hope this day…

that is our prayer at PJ, always!
